Welcome to Lowell Makes, a community-run Makerspace in Lowell, MA. We are an organized group of local artists, engineers, makers, and thinkers who work together to provide tools and learning resources to the public. We use these resources to collaborate on individual and community projects in order to promote science, technology and art; while working and experimenting on innovative ideas to encourage learning within our community.

What is Lowell Makes?

Lowell Makes was founded in 2013 with a simple goal to create a space for makers of all kinds to pool resources and talent that builds a community that is greater than its constituent parts. We are constantly growing new and better ways to serve this goal. Lowell Makes is a membership‐driven collaborative makers space. Our space contains an extensive set of tools, machines, materials, computers, and other resources.

We have several departments that vary from 3D printing, beer making, machine prototyping, pottery making, bike repair, and more. We are a safe place where individuals can gain knowledge and practice new skills with state‐of‐the‐art technology, along with access to resources they may not otherwise have. We are a community of creative-minded people who make all kinds of things.

This Quote is both the City of Lowell’s motto, and a reminder of Lowell’s rich industrial and artistic history as our inspiration.

So how does this place work?

Lowell Makes is a community Makerspace made up of people just like you! Once you become one of us, you can start using Lowell Make’s any time you want! Decide which membership level works best for you from the chart below, but every member gets 24/7 access and anyone can get signed off to use any tool in the building. The shop space, tools, and equipment are at your disposal to create whatever you can imagine! But the best part is that you are also joining a dedicated community of like-minded creative people. It’s the perfect place to find inspiration, learn a wonderful new skill, make something new and become part of an amazing community. We can’t wait to see what you will make!
