Lowell Makes has 3 officer positions designated by its bylaws. They are President, Treasurer, and Secretary. They each have their own duties and and are the only 3 positions that must be filled.
The Duties of the Treasurer as dictated by the byaws:
The Treasurer shall convene regularly scheduled Board meetings in the President’s and Secretary’s absence, shall preside at each meeting.
The Treasurer shall keep correct and complete records of accounts accurately showing at all times the financial condition of the Corporation. Subject to the direction of the Board, the Treasurer shall be the legal custodian of all funds of the Corporation, shall keep a detailed account of its income and expenditures, and shall be responsible for payment of all expenditures of the Corporation. The Treasurer shall make a report at each Board meeting. Treasurer shall chair the finance committee, assist in the preparation of the budget, help develop fundraising plans, and make financial information available to Board members and the public.
The Treasurer is elected annually and may serve up to 3 consecutive terms.
The Treasurer is also expected to serve on ExCom and as the Chair of FinCom.
