What is FinCom?
FinCom is the Financial Committee for Lowell Makes. We handle all of money that comes in and out of Lowell Makes and make sure that the organization stays financially viable.
Our goals are to:
- Keep Lowell Makes financially stable
- Ease the processes by which LM handles money
- Keep an accurate tally of the money that LM has
FinCom Responsibilities
- Handle all CASH into and out of LM
- FinCom members are the only ones authorized to handle CASH at LM
- Pick up and tally cash from donation jars, Maker’s Basket Store,
- Track and tally alternative incomes (apart from Memberships)
- FinCom does not deal directly with membership payments, but they handle all of the alternative forms of payment.
- Class payments, storage income, donations, purchases
- Set rules, guidelines, policies etc, that have to do with handling, tracking and processing cash and other alternative payment
- Write out rules and policies for how to handle cash and other payments
- Produce reports on income from alternative sources
