Leadership Table 12/21/22
ExCom is the highest level of leadership at Lowell Makes under the Board of Directors. It is made up of Lowell Makes’ Officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and the Chairs of the Committees. It is responsible for large-scale planning, day to day operations, and the organization of Lowell Makes and the other Committees
As space is our most valuable commodity and is also our least regulated commodity, a standing committee (Space Committee) is needed to bring order to chaos. SpaceCom handles rentals, storage, space allotment, organization, shop space and workspace.
MemCom is responsible for the Open House and the New Member Experience. Basically, MemCom is there to ease the transition from potential member to new member, and from new member to community member. We host community events and answer questions and offer resources for new and existing members.
As continued growth and development of Lowell Makes is dependent upon its ability to reach new audiences and entice them to join the ranks of our members, the Executive Committee delegates the tasks of increasing our visibility to the greater Lowell community and promoting the various valuable and interesting projects Lowell Makes members produce, to the Marketing Committee.
Ops is short for Operations. The Ops Committee is in charge of all of the physical and network infrastructure at Lowell Makes. We literally keep the lights on!
Education is a value that we uphold every day through formal classes, our annual community Skill Share, and the one-on-one interactions between members. We believe in learning new things and in sharing those skills with the community. This makes Lowell Make the perfect place to learn new things, but also build new connections.
The Education Committee is focused on providing opportunities for growth and enrichment within our membership and the greater Lowell community. The Executive Committee shall delegate the tasks of seeking out, coordinating, marketing, and supporting educational opportunities within Lowell Makes to the Education Committee.
The Financial Committee holds the pursestrings of LM. They approve budgets and expenses, and make sure we have enough money to keep the doors open and the heat on.
